What affects the price

  1. The size of the atticOften the same as the ground floor.
  2. The insulation already thereThe less there is, the more has to be blown in to reach R-60. The year the house was built gives a good idea.
  3. The work needed firstRemoving soiled insulation, decontaminating the wood, sealing air leaks.
  4. AccessThe hatch, the height under the roof, the hard-to-reach corners.

Frequently asked questions

Another question? [email protected]

How much does attic insulation cost?

It depends mostly on the size of the attic and the insulation already there. The estimator above gives you a range for your house. The exact price is written up after the inspection, which is free.

Why R-60 if LogisVert requires R-50?

R-50 is the program's minimum. At R-60, the attic keeps a margin and lets even less heat through.

Entretoit, grenier, combles: what do they mean?

In Quebec, you'll see these three French words on quotes. They all mean the attic: the space between the top-floor ceiling and the roof. That's the space we insulate.

How long does the work take?

Topping up an attic often takes one day. Decontamination and spray foam can take longer. The duration is written in the quote.

Will it make a mess in the house?

We protect the floors and the way to the hatch, and we clean up before we leave.

Can you blow insulation over the old insulation?

Yes, if it's dry, clean and free of vermiculite. If not, we remove it first and fix the cause of the problem.

Do you handle vermiculite?

Not without testing. Vermiculite can contain asbestos: have it tested by a lab before any work. We'll explain what to do at the inspection.

What warranty do you offer?

The materials we install are covered by their manufacturer's warranty.

Do you travel outside the big cities?

Yes. We travel all over Quebec, and we also work in Ottawa and New Brunswick.

Am I eligible for a grant?

In Quebec, if your house is mainly heated with electricity, LogisVert can pay $1,500 for roof insulation and caulking. See the conditions.
