Why caulking matters
Warm air that leaks out rises into the attic. It carries moisture with it, which freezes under the roof in winter. Sealing the leaks means less heat lost, fewer drafts and a drier attic.
For LogisVert, caulking is mandatory: without it, there's no grant for the roof insulation.
How we do it
- We find the leaks, room by room.
- We remove the old cracked or loose sealant.
- We apply a sealant suited to each spot, inside or outside.
- We install insulating gaskets behind outlet and switch plates on exterior walls.
- We give you the list of what was caulked, for your invoice.
When to think about it
- You feel a draft near the windows or outlets.
- The exterior sealant is cracked or blackened.
- You're insulating the attic with LogisVert: caulking is part of the work.
Frequently asked questions
Is caulking mandatory for LogisVert?
Yes. The program requires roof insulation and caulking. Both must be done to receive the $1,500.
What if I want to replace my windows?
Caulking seals the windows you already have. Note that installing or replacing windows and doors isn't eligible for LogisVert.
