Spray foam insulation

Spray foam insulates and blocks air in a single layer. We use it where blown-in insulation doesn't fit: under the roof, on rim joists, on foundation walls and in crawl spaces.

Where we use it

Rim joists

Where the floor sits on the foundation. It's often the biggest air leak in a basement.

Foundation walls

Concrete is cold and lets heat through. Spray foam follows the shape of the wall, with no gaps.

Crawl spaces

Low, hard-to-reach spaces where rigid panels are hard to install.

Other surfaces

A garage, an addition, a floor above a cold space? Ask us.

Why spray foam

  • It insulates and acts as an air barrier at the same time.
  • It sticks to the surface and fills the cracks, even around pipes and wires.
  • Closed-cell foam lets very little moisture through.
  • It gives a high R-value for its thickness.

How it works

  1. We inspect the surfaces and measure.
  2. We protect the area and anything that needs to stay clean.
  3. We spray the foam to the thickness set in the quote.
  4. The area stays ventilated and closed off for the time set by the manufacturer, then we clean up.

Grants

Since October 1, 2026, the Quebec government's Rénoclimat program helps insulate foundations (basement walls, crawl space, slab) and exterior walls. The aid is calculated per square foot. We'll tell you with your quote if your work may qualify. See grants.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to leave the house during the work?

The area being sprayed must stay clear and ventilated during the work and for the time set by the manufacturer. We give you that time with the quote.

Does spray foam replace the vapour barrier?

Closed-cell foam that's thick enough can play that role. We'll confirm what's needed for your wall.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the area and the thickness. We measure at the inspection and give you a written price.
